I've been waiting for someone to post this topic, maybe they have already, what do I know? Anyway, drama, here, big, and lots. I don't quite understand why though. I suppose it's human nature to fight and all but... wow!
Drama is everywhere. At first I felt the same but after almost one year that I have been on here - I am getting used to it and ... just trying to stay out of it, that's all.
I've been here a little over a month and I just laugh at them all and wonder that they have nothing better to do
I haven't been on here much for the past couple of weeks. SO I haven't been up to speed yet. If you're talking about drama from the past well...... That I can't explain. Some people like it, some don't. And some enjoy creating it for the rush and some prefer it peaceful. Some types of drama on here can be entertaining for a short while but in my opinion after like 3 weeks it gets old.
Hi haunted reverie, lol, you hit the nail on the head. This place is like a soap opera, but I think all chat places, message boards and even some email lists are a bit like soap operas, paton place? if you've ever heard of that. They had a soap based based on the movie. Maybe instead of paton place, maybe it should be hatin place, lol. I watch soaps, and sometimes I get irritated with them, but for some reason, I have to see how it all comes out. There are some dramas I follow, but don't get involved in, just keep reading to see who wins the argument, and who has the last word. I've practically stopped posting my own topics on this board, and the rant board, but if I have some thoughts about what someone said, I will express them, without attacking anyone or name calling, just expressing how I feel. I almost don't go back to the topic after I've replied to it, pretty much knowing that people want a reason to jump on someone, keep it going and make sure they get the last word in, so I rarely if ever go back to the topic. I reason if I don't see what they said, then I don't reply to something that's bound to be derogatory and a put down. If it's my topic I have to read all replies, if it's not, I don't. I admit, if I feel someone is being attacked for no real reason, I offer my sympathy to the person being wrongly attacked, but I make it about the attackee, rather than the attacker. If I can get a new computer, I will try and get on the vipconduit site, and I probably won't be on here as much, except maybe a post to the geek board if I need to know something, but I'll probably be in and out really fast. Of course, I may be trading one soap opera for another, lol.

it actually use to be pretty free of drama and a lovely close kinda community but I guess, as with any situation, as more and more people become involved, the more dramas and conflicts there'll be. It is human nature. and there are certainly a few on here that like to blatently attack others, just because they can, and it's the "internet" where they don't care that everyone still has feelings even though they may be miles away! that's the way the internet is unfortunately. You get some real idiots, just the same as face-to-face interactions.
that's true. lol, I did what I said I usually didn't do, but I saw the last post was from you rdfreak, and since you and I haven't had any conflicts, I figured it was pretty safe to read, lol. Yeah, people have this attitude, like, it's just a website, so they have the right to treat anyone how they wish. I've never understood that philosophy, to tell you the truth. but there's this, it's only words attitude, like their words don't matter, but woe unto you if you follow that same practice. I've sort of come to the point on here where I got tired of watching everything I said, when noone else does. Walking on eggshells and trying to think how to phrase this or that, so a flame war doesn't arise gets overly tense, and for me, it's either just sitting in a corner and not speaking except when necessary, or just let it flow as it comes.

I honestly don't give a damn about the drama since I'm not close to anyone on here save for the few friends I've made outside of this system. But I think when a community gets a lot of folks in it with different backgrounds and points of view, much as we want to, we're not going to stand around holding hands, smoking some killer weed and singing folk songs in four-part harmony. Nope, people are going to come to blows, mostly over bullshit I suppose. Hehehehehehe!
yeah, that's the good thing about not having friends on here. I can just be in and out, and if I get busy doing something else for long enough, I can forget the site for a long time. it's all easy come easy go on here.

I think we'd even fight about the four-part harmony, the bias of the folksongs, and who's hogging the bong! Hehe. I'm never more than vaguely aware of the drama, since I think you'd need a few hours a day lurking round here just to keep up with who's not talking to whom, but I think it's worth it for the diversity. How boring would discussions be if everyone with an opinion that pissed someone off was banned? Or if people held back their opinions for fear of offending? Just my two cents.

Even when I fight online, I feel kind of stupid and want to fix the fight. I never thought I'd get so many replies! well, hmmm, I have nothing to say. so... ok then
well, I don't have to think about whether someone is banned or not, I have my best friend, the ignore feature. I'm really surprised that a whole slew of people don't have me on ignore, lol.

To the second question, you can choose what it says if you're a paying premium member. If you're a standard member, you get one of the standard selection which update automatically based on how active you are on here.
I have to agree with you, Haunted Revery - this is full of drama. Like some, I follow the drama but try not to get involved. I find it quite sad, actually, that some of these people have nothing better to do with their lives than create drama.
I hate being Generic zoner lol. wouldn't it be odd if they had this... ZoneBBS convention where all the users met in one big building or something to.. discuss the zone or whatever? Yes, I do post the stupidest stuff. :P

I have a question... what's everyone's fascination with sex? Sure, I guess it's great, I'm really too young to know and don't wanna know till I'm married but. that's all you read about here in the quick notes, the boreds, it's everywhere!
All I can say is that if anyone is daft enough to believe the instigators of the abuse, and the cretin masuerading as my Ex, then they are obviously more stupid than they look.
As for drama, I turn off quicknotes a lot of times, and just make myself private. Sometimes with the quicknote console, I wind up forgeting that I even have TheZone open.

Most of the crap I've started on here deals with my choice of a username. If it doesn't piss people off, there interested. and some folks have actually blocked me because of what i call myself on here and for the reasons I chose the name.
you all can't possibly want a zone convention could you? We'd have a worse nuclear explosion then the ones we had at the end of the second world war! Combined!
